They discussed several topics including how they got the attention of Victory Records from a Facebook message, how they consider themselves just a rock-n-roll band, Mikey’s involvement in The Whosoever’s and more.
Islander was signed to Victory Records at the end of 2013 and have been out supporting their new full length CD, Violence and Destruction. They are currently on the road with Papa Roach, Seether and Kyng and will be heading out with Red starting February 24th. This band has been getting some major attention since they signed their record deal. I expect to see them continue to rise and keep gaining fans as the year goes on. Howie D. from Hard Edge Radio recently had a conversation with guitarist Chris Bishop from the band Crobot. They talked about the bands influences, their recent surge in success, some highlights from the past year, advice on what a band needs to do to try and make it and more.
Crobot have just released their latest CD, Something Supernatural, and are winding down from a year that’s been pretty damn good to them. They’ve done some major tours with Clutch, The Sword and Kyng and they got to play some of the big music festivals this past summer. They already have a monster 2015 lining up, heading to Europe with Black Label Society and then returning to the states to hit the road in the spring with Volbeat and Anthrax. I think this is only the beginning for this band. They bring a real fresh sound at a time when so many bands and artists sound the same. Please click below to hear the interview with Chris.

Plus the usual entertainment news, upcoming shows and more. Hard Edge Radio airs live every Thursday night from 8-10pm EST on Tapdetroit.com
Howie D. from Hard Edge Radio caught up with Mille Petrozza from legendary German metal band, Kreator. The interview was conducted right before their show at The Majestic Theater in Detroit on November 21st. They talked about the relevance the band still has in the metal scene, the amount of bands from the 80’s and 90’s that are still putting out great music, plans for the coming year and more.
Kreator has been touring in support of their most recent CD, Phantom Antichrist. The band plans to take it easy next year, playing only a select few shows and then working on music for a new CD slated to be out in 2016. After 30 years this band is still putting out great music and still puts on a great live show for their fans. It’s good to see some things never change. Thursday November 6th on Hard Edge Radio we aired our interview with Wayne Static, believed to be the final interview he did before his passing. We also played a bunch of Static-X songs and had members of The Worst Of join us in the studio. Plus the usual upcoming events, entertainment news and more. Hard Edge Radio airs live every Thursday night from 8-10pm EST on Tapdetroit.com.
When I sat down at my home studio around 5pm on Wednesday October 29th to prepare to talk to Wayne Static for a Hard Edge Radio interview, I was just excited to finally have the chance to talk to him, get some updates and see what he had coming up and going on in life. I obviously never imagined he would die so suddenly just 3 days later. On one hand, the heavier hand, it’s so sad that we’ve lost him and that it happened so suddenly. I believe he had so much more left to contribute to music. On the other hand, the much lighter hand, I’m so honored to be one of the last people, possibly THE LAST, to ever get a chance to record an interview with him. It was a great feeling to catch him on such a good day and to hear him be so positive about life and his plans for the future.
What’s really strange is that I ALWAYS edit my interviews within a day or two of doing them but for some reason I decided to edit this one a few days later then normal. I usually have 10-15 minutes set aside on the show each week to fit in the national interviews we do and I planned on editing this one down to around 13-14 minutes from it’s original length of 21 minutes. I’m so glad I waited and can now give you the complete interview with just cleaned up audio and a little tightening up between questions. He was in such a good mood and was so excited about the upcoming tour, the new CD and the future. His family, friends and fans will truly take comfort in hearing what a great place he was in those last few days. I now share with you, my interview with Wayne Static.
This interview was recorded on Wednesday October 29th, 2014 at 5:10pm EST
